British hunk Idris Elba hit up the UK’s MOBO Awards (Music Of Black Origin) nominations launch at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London today.

The dapper No Good Deed star has plenty to celebrate after the film landed the No. 1 spot on the opening weekend at the box office. And now he's making history in his hometown. He was presented with the inaugural MOBO Inspiration Award, which was created to recognize an individual who has gained success in their field of work against the odds and exudes inspiration. He surely fits the bill.

He posed it up with British television/radio personality Sarah-Jane Crawford, who presented the “Luther” star with the award.

The Mandela star also had a little fun with MOBO Awards creator Kanya King. Recently, Idris revealed he would love to play the James Bond role if the opportunity was ever presented. He definitely has the looks for the part…whew!

And yesterday....

Idris was spotted leaving his hotel room in SoHo after attending the 2014 Social Good Summit at 92Y in NYC.

On taking up boxing at age 17, to combat Scoliosis:

"People might think that because I'm skinny and tall, I'm fragile. But I always knew I wasn't. And it's comforting to know that I can throw a proper punch if I have to."

On why she workouts and has a steady diet of fruit and vegatables:

"I want to last in my career, and that relies on the way my body performs. So I need to take care of it. I need to push myself. I don't want to be on such a strict diet that I don't have fun. So if I eat sweets, I'll just put in more of an effort when I go to the gym."

K. Michelle and “Love & Hip Hop Hollywood” star Soulja Boy are going AT IT via social media. And it all stems from K’s recent interview with The Breakfast Club.

During her chat with the NYC radio hosts, K went IN on Soulja Boy for insinuating in a previous interview that he had sex with her.

The “Love Em All” singer was clearly ticked off about Soulja’s comments and used the Breakfast Club’s platform to set the record straight. She popped off saying,"I watched an interview and Soulja Boy was on this interview and they was asking him like, asking all the men of Love & Hip Hop LA, who would they bang. And hey said me… ok great…but Soulja Boy implies that he had slept with me.”

Then she goes IN: "He’s giggling, he’s like ‘Nah I ain’t say that’ and then he’s giggling. You can giggle on these nuts! Let me tell you something Soulja Boy, cause I know you gone hear this, what you not gone do is lie on my hot pocket. When I do something, I say I did it. And that’s what it is. Kerry Washington made her way back to the “Good Morning America” set this morning, a day after launching the “Scandal” Limited Line collection. And this time she’s dishing on the brand new season of the ABC series that we cannot WAIT to see.

The fab mom looked radiant in a yellow plunging dress as she dished on what’s in store for Olivia Pope this season. On the last episode, we were left on the edge of our seats after Oliva quit OPA and hopped on plane in hopes of restarting her life away from the White House. When asked about what's coming up in the new season, Kerry didn’t reveal much (cause we just love the twisted turns of the show), but she did let us in on what we can expect in the first episode. She said,

“I can tell you, you will know where the plane is going. In the very first episode, you will find out.”

We're rarely treated to inside deets about working for some of the world's biggest celebs (shout out to confidentiality agreements!) but publicist Yvette Noel-Schure spoke on "The Jake Sasseville Show" recently about representing Mariah, Prince, Beyonce and working her way up through Sony.  Check out interview highlights here:

On Prince

“When I did publicity for Prince for one year (the best year of my life!), I was the greatest actress that year. I never let him think I was a fan. It was very easy to talk to him which I didn’t anticipate.”

“What I loved about working with Prince is he expected me to bring something to the table. “Musicology” was reaching a fan base that didn’t grow up with Prince and I thought it was time to go to those newer fans… when I convinced him to do Black Beat Magazine, the magazine I ran for all those years, not only did he say yes, Rudi Meyer (editor of Black Beat) came and spent two hours with Prince sitting and talking to him.”

“You can’t record Prince’s voice. It was a lesson in seeing these journalists having to listen, take notes and Prince understood that he had to slow it down if he didn’t want to be misquoted.”

On Mariah

“[On my first day at Sony,] I was wearing a beautiful black dress. All the powerful people wore black, so I knew I had to wear black. I was ready to find a stack of things on artists no one cared about. Instead, there was one folder on my chair and it said Mariah Carey. She was the biggest music star in the world. I took the folder and ran to Larry Jenkins office… I told him someone forgot the Mariah Carey folder in my chair. Larry said Yvette, she is your client. And I need you to study up on everything.”

“Not only was Mariah Carey the biggest star in the world at the time, she was married to the CEO of Sony Music Tommy Mottola. Not only am I now responsible for the biggest star in the world but I have to report to Tommy Mottola, the husband of the biggest music star in the world and the CEO on the first day that I become a publicist having never been a publicist before.”

“It’s as if someone took me out on a lake, threw me out into the crater, and as they were pulling away, then asked Do you even know how to swim.”

On Beyonce and Destiny's Child

“I sat down with them (Destiny’s Child) and did makeup lessons… they were pretty advanced because Miss Tina Knowles was such a central figure in the lives of the girls of Destiny’s Child. Not just Beyonce, but Kelly who was raised in her house. LaTavia (Roberson) and LeToya (Luckett), the original two members, where the friendship blossomed in that house. They understood about hair and how they wanted to look. I knew in that moment that if Columbia Records trusted me with these young women, and if Tina and Matthew Knowles trusted me to be around these young women and knew that if they walked out of a room, they knew I wasn’t going to be shooting up a needle or smoking a blunt… I knew being a publicist was not what I needed to do. I knew I had to be a teacher and I had to be a guide and mentor.”

“One of the things I know that Beyonce probably appreciates about me, especially now that she has a family… is that I always said to the girls, at the end of everything, I’m going home to my babies. It got to the point where the girls of Destiny’s Child used to mouth it to me after the interviews or press day. She’s going home to her babies.”

When "Movie Night" goes down on "Dancing With the Stars", movie star Kevin Hart will be filling in for Len Goodman as a guest judge!  Next Monday, Sept. 29th, The Wedding Ringer star will bring the jokes as he critiques the celeb contestants.

Hart, 35, will join judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Julianne Hough, and Bruno Tonioli in evaluating the 11 remaining celebs and their pro partners as they boogie down to songs from their favorite films.

Jennifer Hudson dropped by "Late Night" where she talked about her new JHUD disc and her alter ego "Jones." Over on Instagram, pregnant Zoe Saldana showed off her pole-dancing skills.  More inside...

Jennifer Hudson celebrated the release of her JHUD album (in stores now) with an appearance on Late Night with Seth Myers.  Jen looked stunning in over the nee leather boots, a white top, shorts and a blazer. She tweeted, "Never feel right without my red lip."

While discussing the album JHUD, she told Seth,"It's more like a dance album this time around.  I've gotten to be me in my age.  That's why I named it JHUD.  It represents me the person..and not so much the Jennifer Hudson persona.  I find my groove in this album."

Jen also revealed that Grace Jones was the inspiration behind the JHUD album and that she's developed an alter ego named JONES.

She revealed to Seth that she learned to perform in gays clubs in Chicago.  The drag queens would dress her up and she'd sing for tips.  Work!

GLADIATORS - It's almost time!  "Scandal" star Kerry Washington was spotted in New York City where she's promoting the season 4 premiere of the hits series on ABC (Thursday, 8p CT). 

Lucky photographers caught a very rare photo op as Kerry was seen leaving The Ritz-Carlton with her family in tow.  We rarely see her and hubby Nnamdi together in the SAME frame....

The couple's daughter Isabelle was carried out of the hotel by whom we assume is a nanny.  Unfortunately, we still don't get to see little Isabella's face.  Kerry is famously private and there's no telling when and if we'll ever see a family photo spread. 

On the promo trail......

Kerry is not in NYC for pleasure....it's all business.  And yesterday she rocked a fab polka dotted look that made us swoon.

The fourth season of "Scandal" starts tomorrow and she even has a "Scandal" inspired clothing line with The Limited, which she debuted on GMA this week.

Kerry wore a stunning red, white and blue dress for her appearance on "The Tonight Show." 

We learned that the title of the first episode of the new season, airing tomorrow night, will be 'Randy, Red, Superfreak and Julia" AND the second episode is called "The State Of The Nation."  It looks like her outfits follow the theme of the show...clever.

OXYGEN is bringing more "Christianity" to TV, via reality tv. And this new show will be following a group of preachers from Detroit. Get the deets inside….

After the success of the controversial hit series “Preacher of L.A.”, OXYGEN has a new spinoff show in the works entitled “Preachers of Detroit”.

The new series is taking us to Motown to chronicle the men and women of God as they tackle life’s challenges and triumphs in and out of the pulpit. The network also plans to develop New York, Atlanta and Dallas editions of the show.  Of course.

Wowzers!  Amber Rose just dropped the ultimate shocker.  Nope, not her ASSets in other twerk video....but DIVORCE PAPERS!  Deets inside...

We can't even lie.  We didn't necessarily see this one coming.  Amber Rose just filed divorce papers on Wiz Khalifa, less than two months after their 1-year wedding anniversary.

It was all good just a month ago.  Rapper Wiz had his scantily clad wife on his arm (above) at the MTV Video Music Awards in August.  And Amber is known to gush about her man on a constant basis.  So what went wrong?  It's unclear, but Amber wants full legal and physical custody of their son Sebastian and she wants the prenup--which allows for spousal support--to be upheld.

TMZ reports:

In the divorce docs -- obtained by TMZ -- Amber says they split on Monday and cites irreconcilable differences.

Amber is asking for full legal and physical custody of their 1-year-old son Sebastian. She's willing to give Wiz visitation.

And this is interesting. Amber acknowledges there's a prenup, which you would think would work in Wiz' favor, but she says it's valid ... presumably, she's not challenging it. The docs say the prenup provides spousal support.

Well, this is unfortunate.

Amber is also leaving the marriage with a budding acting career budding (she's on the upcoming ABC show "Selfie" and a few other gigs) and a new manager in Nick Cannon...who is also recently single. 

Hmmm...

There were unconfirmed and unfounded rumors of infidelity circulating once Amber became a client of Nick Cannon's.

We're sure details will spill soon, because reportedly, the split is BITTER.

Pop princess Rihanna was spotted out and about on the streets of NYC last night. RiRi had a pretty busy evening. First, she attended Kevin Durant's birthday party at PhD Rooftop club at the Dream Downtown. Then, she headed over to 1 Oak where she closed out the night how she usually does it.

But its not all play for RiRi, who was a part of the national hacking scandal last week. She's also in town to put the final touches on the tentatively titled R8, her eighth studio album.  In between parties, we've has spotted her ducking in and out of several studio sessions.

Hollywood legend Denzel Washington (who stars in the new film The Equalizer) and rock star legend Lenny Kravitz (who just released his new album Strut) have built a great friendship over the years. So much so, they often go on vacay with one another and come back with plenty of stories to share.

Last night, the two hit up “Live With David Letterman” and the two kept the laughs coming as they went back and forth with one another, cracking jokes. The guys talked about their recent boat trip together where Lenny forced The Equalizer star to watch his own movies. It seems Denzel only watches his movies once just so he’ll know what he’s talking about during promo tours.

Hip Hop mogul Dr. Dre landed the No.1 spot on FORBES 2014 Cash Kings list. No surprise there. After selling his Beats by Dre headphones to Apple for a cool $3 BILLION, along with his other many projects, it has earned the entrepreneur the highest annual total of any entertainer ever evaluated by Forbes. He certainly deserves the crown.

Although he’s not quite a billionaire yet, he’s steadily making his way there with pretax earnings of $620 million. Not only that, his total earnings beat out all 24 of his Hip Hop peers on this year’s Hip-Hop Cash Kings list. Boss!

Jay Z and Diddy tie at the No. 2 spot earning $60 million this year. This is the highest earnings in a year for Hov since 2010, aided by his Roc Nation empire, 68 concerts during FORBES scoring period, his D’Ussé cognac deal and his certified platinum album Magna Carta…Holy Grail (which sold 1 million copies before it was released due to an agreement with Samsung).

Diddy and his Diageo’s Ciroc deal earned him the bulk of his earnings but he also banked cash for other ventures like DeLeon tequila, Blue Flame marketing, Sean Jean clothing, and his new endeavor Revolt TV.

In today's tv news, Rocsi Diaz is stepping away from the mic at "ET" which Academy Award winner Cuba Gooding Jr. flashed his pecs during a Chicago Blackhawks hockey game.  

 
After two-years on tv's longest running entertainment magazine, former "106 & Park" host Rocsi Diaz is set to leave Entertainment Tonight as weekend co-host and daily correspondent. Her last reports will be filed in January. An ET rep told Deadline,

“As both Rocsi and ET have grown and evolved over the years, she has elected to pursue hosting opportunities that are available to her at the start of next year. Until then, she will continue to bring her usual brand of Rocsi-style entertainment interviews to ET.”

In related ET news, Kevin Frazier has been named co-host and CNN's Nischelle Turner is as a new correspondent.

Also on tv...

Just for giggles...we spotted Cuba Gooding Jr. being his over-the-top self last night. He was in Chicago to film"Empire" with Terrence Howard where he was invited to the United Center for the Chicago Blackhawks preseason game against the Detroit Red Wings.

The folks asked him to participate in the team's “Shoot the Puck” game and they got all that and then some. He was given three shots to get a puck into one of three slots in the net from center ice. He missed the first two shots, but the third was a charm. And off came the shirt!

We have new family shots of Beyonce, Jay Z& Blue Ivy inside the Picasso Museum and Chrisette Michele confirmed that she'll return to “R&B Divas: LA” (even after that open letter). Deets inside.

We saw The Carters in route to the Picasso Muesum in Barcelona while on their European vacay as they celebrated Beyonce’s 33rd birthday earlier this month. And now, Mrs. Carter is sharing inside shots of their museum field trip.
 

Bey posed it up in her Étoile Isabel Marant silk caja top and Coleen ruched crepe skirt to recreate one of Pablo Picasso’s masterpieces. And we're sure Jay was loving it.

The Carters took in the most extensive collections of artworks by the 20th-century Spanish artist, which includes a whooping 4,251 pieces. One thing is for sure, Blue definitely has experienced more culture in her life time than many. 

Bey also shared a shot, while yachting the European waters, wearing a multicolor harem print Emilio Pucci pants. HOT.

And in a few recent shots, she serves up some effortless fab wearing a TOPSHOP Unique asymmetric dress, Jérôme Dreyfuss Eliot bag and AcneStudios bracelet. Loves it!

In TV news....

If you’re an “R&B Divas: LA” fan, you’ll be happy to know that they will be returning for a third season on TV One. The third season is expected to premiere in early 2015.

And guess who confirmed she will be on the next season? Newcomer Chrisette Michele. Remember that open letter she penned about all of the negative backlash she received?  Well, clearly the checks are good enough to bring her back for another round of diva antics.

In the behind-the-scenes clip of tonight’s Part 1 reunion show, hosted by Wendy Williams, Chrisette "accidentally" confirms she will be returning to the show at the very end of the clip.  And from the looks of the rest of the clip, Lil’ Mo, Chanté Moore, Michel’le, Claudette Ortiz and Leela James will bring plenty of drama on the set once they have final say about the season.

Nick Cannon is clearing his name in the Wiz Khalifa/Amber Rose divorce, while Jesse Williams weighs in on the NY Times article that called Shonda Rhimes “an angry black woman.” Deets inside….

We were shocked to learn that just after 1-year of Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose being married... they’re calling it quits. Amber has filed for divorce requesting physical custody of their son Sebastian and that their prenup be upheld which allows for spousal support.

According to unconfirmed rumors, Nick Cannon (who is currently dealing with his divorce from Mariah Carey) may have been the reason the seemingly happy couple are headed down Splitsville Lane. But, sources close to Nick are claiming that is not true!

People in Nick’s camp tell TMZ that he had absolutely nothing to do with their uncoupling. You’ll recall he just signed Amber to his NCredible Entertainment label to manage her budding acting career. So of course, people are saying that he may have had something to do with their split, claiming Amber was cheating on Wiz with Nick.

It’s reported Nick found out about Amber’s pending divorce through her lawyers when she signed on as his client. Guess we will find out the real deal soon.

And in other news….

“Grey's Anatomy” star Jesse Williams is coming to Shonda Rhimes’ defense after an article was published in the New York Times by writer Alessandra Stanley labeling the writer/executive producer an “angry black woman.”

The article caused an outrage amongst fans who started a petition demanding a retraction from the paper. Now, Jesse is speaking up for the show’s executive producer and here’s what he had to say about the offensive article,

“This person knows zero about Shonda Rhimes… and what’s interesting and why I hesitate to even give this person any time or energy, is that its boring… it’s the same stuff over and over again.”

We agree.

He added,

"Do you know how many characters Shonda Rhimes has created?...iconic, iconic characters, and how diverse they are? Grey's Anatomy is the most incredible example of how its perfectly doable to have a diverse cast of people who are representing themselves and are whole human beings, and are not demonstratively Black or Asian, or female or Latino...just people being people"

We couldn’t have said it better.

Miami Heat baller Dwyane Wade and his Wade's World Foundation launched a new program to benefit youth in South Florida and the Caribbean. More inside...

Dwyane Wade continues to put his name to good use. Today, he teamed up with The Sandals Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Sandals Resorts International (SRI), and announced Game Changer, an integrated sports program to benefit youth in underserved communities in South Florida and the Caribbean.

The announcement was made at Dwyane Wade’s 6th Annual Brand Wade Summit at Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa (pictured here).  According to the press release,

"Monies raised through the three-year iconic relationship between The Sandals Foundation and Wade’s World Foundation will give underprivileged youth access to planned sports, recreation, healthy lifestyle and family engagement. Game Changer will also provide for the upgrading and refurbishing of 11 multi-purpose sports courts in the Caribbean and South Florida including one planned at the court at Marshall Williamson Park, located in the heart of South Miami, Florida."

Dwyanecommented why Wade’s World Foundation partnered to create the Game Changer program saying,

“South Florida is not only important to my Foundation, but it serves as a neighboring community to the Caribbean. The opportunity to partner with the Sandals Foundation was a natural progression to the work we do and affords us the chance to continue to expand our reach internationally providing today’s youth with safe and fun places to learn, explore and develop their potential.”

Adam Stewart, President of the Sandals Foundation and CEO of SRI, added,“We’re thrilled to create awareness for Game Changer with Dwyane Wade and Wade’s World Foundation and to officially get the program off the ground.  It’s the first time our Foundation has worked so closely with a celebrity, and while Wade’s enormous popularity means we can reach a wider audience with our message, it’s really his commitment to giving all kids a shot at a better life that makes the Foundation proud and honored to work with him.“

In other news....aside from sticking up for his wife Gabrielle Union during the nude pic scandal, Dwyane just unveiled his new line of Wade lifestyle shoes.

He said, "Since these are releasing I thought it was only right that they're my #wadewednesday post. #diablo"  Are we feeling these?

There's been a little controversy over the show's theme that questions what "being black" really means.  But the show actually touches on an important issue with Black Americans in a comedic way, and it's good tv.

Is Tyler Perry having a child out-of-wedlock?  Did Columbus Short really sign on to host a "Scandal" premiere party tonight?  Sip tea with a raised eyebrow inside...

Though Tyler Perry has not made an official announcement, friends of the actor allegedly say he's set to become a dad.  We've been hearing the rumor for a little while now.  And it starting to pick up even more steam.

Who's the lucky lady?  Reportedly, his alleged on-again, off-again model girlfriend of several years, Gelila Bekele.  And she's allegedly around 7-months pregnant. Tyler, who threw himself a 45th birthday party in Los Angeles this week, was revealed as a "baby daddy" by a close friend who told E! News,

"He said he had to start getting used to not getting a lot of sleep, because his life was about to change in a big way.  He said, 'Some of you know what I'm talking about.'"

Oh...

Tyler posted pics from the bash on his Facebook page and revealed the stellar lineup of guests, captioning,

"I had never thrown myself a birthday party, so for my 45th I wanted to do something special. This is inside the tent where we had a two hour concert. Jennifer Holliday, Desiree Coleman Jackson, Tevin Campbell, Ledisi, Monica, Jazmine Sullivan, Tamia, Mary Mary, LeAnn Rimes, Yolanda Adams, Rachelle Ferrell and Stevie Wonder brought the house down. It was a night I'll never forget. Thanks to all of them for making this night special for me. My next party will be at 50. Gonna mark it every 5 years. A celebration in thanks to God for my life."
 

Guess who else came to the party....Stevie Wonder!  Tyler said,"Stevie at the piano in my living room for my 45th birthday bash. I had to pinch myself." Now....let's play a game of "Where's Gelila"?

In Georgia...

Disgraced actor Columbus Short is still collecting coins off "Scandal."  Let us explain....you'll recall that Columbus was famously dropped/fired/written off the series after a series of high profile domestic violence and assault cases came to light.  Now, he has no job and a ton of mounting legal bills.  What's a brother to do?

Well...someone came up with the idea to hire him to host a "Scandal" premiere party.  If you think about it....it's pretty smart.  Wouldn't you like to watch the season premiere with an ish talking former Gladiator? We just hope he stays off the liquor...you know he can't hold his.
