SISTERLY BUSINESS: Zoe & Cisely Saldana INK Film Deal With Lionsgate + Rashida & Kidada Jones SELL "Ladyballs" Series to CW

Imternational movie star Zoe Saldana and sister Cisely Saldana have inked a first-look deal (via their production company Saldana Productions) with Lionsgate Entertainment 's Pantelion Films (which will be a Latino-focused Hollywood studio).

Zoe, who has signed on for three more Avatar films as well as the lead role in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy spoke to THR about the deal saying, "We look forward to a fruitful and productive relationship with Pantelion."

Rashida Jones and her older sister, Kidada Jones have sold a new tv series, "Ladyballs" to the CW.  So what's the series about?  According to The Hollywood Reporter,

"revolves around two twenty-something estranged friends in search of love in New York who are reunited after learning that they've been dating the same guy. When their plot to humiliate the two-timer goes viral, they realize the "payback" business is a lucrative one and set up a clandestine business to continue bringing down the hand of justice for those who have been wronged."

Rashida Jones and Will McCormack will co-executive produce the potential series while Kara Taylor (author of Prep School Confidential) will write the script and also co-executive produce.  Also, Kidada Jones will make her debut as a producer.

 

The Randomness:

1. Actress Cybil Shepard was spotted filming a Trayvon Martin-inspired episode of "Law & Order". Story.

2. Actor Omari Hardwick has landed the lead in Starz’s drama series "Power."  Story.
